11. ENERGY STAR® Paddle Fans (Option)
Homeowners all over are seeing rising energy costs due to higher prices to cool and heat their homes. And it's only predicted to get worse. It's a perfect time to see the benefits of owning a ceiling fan. A ceiling fan is a great energy efficient product that makes sense today. A ceiling fan works in the summer to make a room feel cooler and is valuable in the winter, too. The bottom line is a ceiling fan can improve your room comfort and reduce your cooling needs as well as your energy costs. In warmer weather it can make a room feel up to seven degrees cooler by creating a "wind chill" effect. You can set your thermostat higher and save up to 40% on air conditioning bills. In the winter, you can run your fan in reverse to recirculate the hot air trapped near the ceiling. You can set your thermostat lower and save on heating costs as the fan provides even, comfortable temperatures throughout the room. Either way, you conserve valuable energy, making a ceiling fan a wise investment for you and the environment.

17. Dual Flush Toilets (Option)
Toilets that have the option to use even less water than the federally mandated 1.6 gallons per flush while still performing reliably. In studies comparing dual flush fixtures with standard 1.6 gpm fixtures the dual flush fixtures used 23 to 32 percent less water.

20. ENERGY STAR® Lighting Fixtures (Option)
The look of ENERGY STAR lighting has evolved into decorative fixtures, sconces, outdoor lighting, and ceiling fans that reduce operating costs. By selecting ENERGY STAR lighting, ceiling fans, and light bulbs, you will be working toward reducing your energy bills and significantly helping to protect our environment.
Did You Know?
ENERGY STAR® qualified light bulbs and lighting fixtures use up to 75% less energy than standard lighting products. 90% of the energy expended by an incandescent light bulb is wasted as heat. Only 10% of the energy (electricity) that passes through is converted into visible light. ENERGY STAR® qualified lighting fixtures use less energy, provide the same light output, and are cooler to the touch. An ENERGY STAR® qualified light bulb that is used for an average of 4 hours per day will last for more than 4 years before it needs to be changed.

22. ENERGY STAR® Vinyl Windows (Standard)
Philips strives to protect our environment while providing a quality vinyl window. Vinyl is fully recyclable. Philips Products recycles all of the scrap material to lessen waste in our landfills. Philips vinyl windows are low maintenance. Vinyl requires no paints or stains. Philips windows will not rot, corrode, rust or flake and are fire resistant. Vinyl windows require 3 times less energy to produce than aluminum windows. Vinyl windows have shown to save the United States 2 trillion BTU's of energy per year-enough to meet the electrical needs of 20,000 single-family homes. High performance Low-E glass greatly reduces heating and cooling cost and ENERGY STAR rated vinyl windows conserve energy.

26. ENERGY STAR® Bath Fans / Lights (Option)
Energy efficient solutions in traditional designs. A bath fan needn't call attention to itself, especially when you don't want it to overpower the design of your bath or powder room. More important, it shouldn't call attention to itself on your electric bill. The QTREN line was developed for energy efficiency in the high-traffic bathroom, and for those who seek a fan with a more traditional design. It simply does its job quietly, in every sense of the word. ENERGY STAR® labeled fans provide more ventilation capacity at a lower wattage than a standard bath fan. They are also quieter than most standard fans and, therefore, are more likely to be used. Because of their more efficient blade design and motors, they are more durable than some standard fans.

28. Low Voc / No Voc Paints (Standard) (Colors Optional)
Not so long ago, it was common for fumes to drive people from their homes during repainting. Most conventional paints contained high levels of VOCs (volatile organic compounds) that produced a breathable gas when applied. The VOCs diminish air quality. Today, alternative manufacturing techniques have allowed the development of low- and no-VOC paints that release no, or minimal VOC pollutants, and are virtually odor free. It should be noted that not every latex-based coating is low in VOCs. Products may be described as low-VOC when they off-gas significantly less than other products. Some oil-based paints qualify as low-VOC because their formulas have been modified. VOC levels are expressed in pounds per gallon (lbs/gal) or grams per liter (g/l). Interior paint is given a Green Seal if it has a VOC content less than 50 g/l (for flat sheen) or 150 g/l (non-flat sheen).
The Hempfield Crossing standard wall paint is 22 g/l and trim paint is 93 g/l.

30. GreenFiber Cocoon Cellulose Insulation (Standard)
EPA's recycled content procurement guidelines state that recycled content is the most recognized environmental feature of building products.
Materials with recycled content have three advantages:
(1) they require fewer natural resources;
(2) they divert materials from the solid waste stream; and
(3) they use less energy during manufacturing.
GreenFiber's natural fiber insulation products have all three advantages. Cocoon consists of 85% recycled content with the remaining content consisting of fire retardant and stabilizing additives. GreenFiber's products are produced using ten time less energy than other insulation products. Cellulose is produced in electrically driven mills that consume relatively little energy when operating and no energy once the production day ends. No wastewater, hazardous waste, or toxic air emissions are released during the manufacture of GreenFiber's products. All of which helps to minimize the impact of home building on the environment.
